Policies, such as car insurance policies, really need to be read through at least once a year. The reason for this is that policies will change, in fact they’re built to change, built to adapt to evolving situations about drivers, about the economy. And so these changes, if they’re not serious or urgent, insurers will wait until the end of the calendar year, so that they can sort of “batch” these updates together, and have all of the changes go into effect all at the same time (January 1). So, it would pay to actually save a copy of the old terms, and compare them to the new terms after the new year.
